Managed to install the new version. Nasty piece with config and security checks, though.

Great! I managed to push a new update a copuple of days ago. You should be able to install it in FF3 now.

Kaisa, näinhän se menee! Ehkä joku klikkaa noitakin mainoksia, mistäs sitä ikinä tietää. (Jos joku vaikka haluaa laihtua kovasti käyttämällä laastaria tai jotain sellaista.)

Toimiviakin mainoksia olen Facebookissa nähnyt, tosin harvemmassa ne ovat olleet;)

Olen myös nauranut usein lukiessani “mainoksia” Facebookissa. Osa kuulostaa ihan järkeviltä jostain muusta kielestä suomeksi käännettynäkin, mutta osa…huh huh. Täytyy kyllä sanoa, että kääntäminen on vaikeaa, kun ei aina tiedä mihin yhteyteen teksti kuuluu…

Ja tuosta asiaan kuuluvuudesta; ite oon oppinu vain kääntämään silmäni muualle noista iänikuisista laihdutus-ym. mainoksista, jotka ei muakaan todellakaan kiinnosta/ei pitäiskään kiinnostaa. Ehkä ne joitain häiritsee, mutta luulenpa, että pääasiassa ne aiheuttavat vain hymähtelyjä…jossainhan sitä pitää palvelujaan mainostaa, ihan vaikka sattumanvaraiselle kohteelle…;)

Hi Peter!

Yep, passive user - no bug reports:( I’ve been using Fangs since 2005 at university level teaching of Accessibility and web development and there has been at least two or three occasions when the plugin stopped working due to a Firefox update.

Can’t recall the exact dates, but I think first time was migrating to FF 2 and the second time somewhere around 2.0x… (Sprry - no reports and no exact dates!)

Pain in the ass part comes from Fangs being such a good tool in teaching and lightweight evaluation of accessibility. I really like the plugin and the work you have done! And from that usefulness and compatibility issues sometimes arises the frustration (also behind this posting)…

Good thing that you’ll update it - thanks in advance! And yes, I’ll submit bug reports from now on;)

Hey! What do you mean by “Fangs has been a major pain in the ass with the compatibility issues for many years”? I have only received one bug report since 2005 where someone complained about a compatibility issue (and it wasn’t form you). And that issue was caused by a different extension.

Anyway, I’ll try to update Fangs and make it installable in FF3 sometime during the summer.

Hmm, smells like a rollback to me. I think the stuff already hit the fan, but at least juhannus is saved - they’ll be back next week!

I only wonder did they test the site with max load (or at all) or was this yet another IT-project where someone else said what can be done and when? (I’d wager on the latter - business over testing.)
